Overview
Bai Dinh Pagoda
Bai Dinh Pagoda is one of the most impressive and expansive Buddhist temple complexes in Southeast Asia. It holds several national records, including housing 500 Arhat statues and featuring Vietnam’s largest bronze Buddha statue, which stands 10 meters tall. Visitors can spend time exploring the vast complex with a local guide and gain insights into Vietnamese Buddhism. Nearby, there is an older, more traditional pagoda nestled in a mountain cave—reaching it requires a short hike uphill but offers a peaceful and spiritual experience.
Trang An Boat Tour
The Trang An Scenic Landscape Complex, recognized as a UNESCO World Cultural and Natural Heritage site, spans over 2,000 hectares of breathtaking karst formations. The area is dotted with serene rivers, limestone caves, and historic temples and pagodas. A peaceful two-hour boat trip allows you to drift through caves and along narrow waterways while taking in the region’s remarkable natural beauty. Similar in charm to Tam Coc, Trang An offers a more extensive route with deeper cave exploration and more historical landmarks.
Mua Cave (Hang Mua Viewpoint)
Located within the Trang An region, Mua Cave—also known as Hang Mua Viewpoint—sits at the base of Mua Mountain in Khe Dau Ha village, Ninh Xuan, Ninh Binh. While the cave itself is modest, the real attraction is the view from the summit. After climbing roughly 500 stone steps, visitors are rewarded with a panoramic view of the Ngo Dong River, where traditional boats row toward Tam Coc. At the peak, you’ll also find a dragon statue known as Ngoa Long and a small Buddhist shrine. On the other side of the viewpoint, you can admire lotus ponds and the quiet charm of nearby villages.

I was blown away by the natural beauty of Ninh Binh. The boat ride through Tam Coc was so peaceful and the views were out of this world. Our guide was super friendly and knowledgeable. Highly recommend this tour!

Ninh Binh was the perfect escape from the hustle of the city. We especially loved the Trang An boat tour – it felt like a scene from a movie! Would have loved to stay longer.

We booked a one-day tour from Hanoi and everything was perfectly organized. The transportation was comfortable, lunch was delicious, and the scenery was unforgettable. Worth every penny.
